Puerto Ricans love Christmas time. It’s the time where there aren’t excuses to celebrate and share with your family, because the season invites to participate in activities, to eat with family and go out to visit our beautiful island to see light up with thousand little colored bulbs. Therefore, we invite you to join us in our road trip through the island where we will show you the most popular town centers in Puerto Rico of the years of 2015, 2016 and what is still left of 2017. The towns that we will show are: San Juan, Arecibo, Isabela, Aguadilla, Mayaguez, Ponce and Juana Diaz.

Guajataca River

The Guajataca River is a very beautiful one located in the town of Isabela.  This river flows into the Guajataca beach and it creates a natural pool where people take the opportunity for swimming or kayaking.

The use of kayaks in the river is an activity that it is practiced many times.  The path lasts approximately two hours roundtrip and it starts at the Guajataca Beach, where the natural pool is located.  From there, the kayaks are thrown in and the adventure begins. Continue reading

The Guajataca Tunnel

The Guajataca Tunnel is a railway tunnel which purpose was to connect the towns of Isabela and Quebradillas during the first half of the 20th century, and it is located on Highway #2 towards to Isabela.  In the year of 2000, the tunnel was declared a historical monument due to the great history that this place has.

For the year 1904, this tunnel was built by the American Railway Company of Puerto Rico, who continued the construction initiated by the Railway Company of Puerto Rico under the Spanish regime.  Continue reading
