Puerto Ricans love Christmas time. It’s the time where there aren’t excuses to celebrate and share with your family, because the season invites to participate in activities, to eat with family and go out to visit our beautiful island to see light up with thousand little colored bulbs. Therefore, we invite you to join us in our road trip through the island where we will show you the most popular town centers in Puerto Rico of the years of 2015, 2016 and what is still left of 2017. The Tunnels of San German

Many people think that they have seen everything that there is to see in Puerto Rico and that there is no place on the island that they haven’t visited.  However, contrary to what you may think, Puerto Rico has much to offer.  There so many natural beauties and historical places hidden on this island that you would have to go on an adventure for weeks, maybe months, to try to discover those hidden treasures.  Many of these hidden locations are beneath us and we would not know, like the underground tunnels in the town of San German.

Indian Ceremonial Center of Tibes

In the city of Ponce, there is a place with great cultural and historical value, and one of the most important indigenous archaeological sites in the Caribbean.  We are talking about the Centro Ceremonial Indígena del Tibes (Indian Ceremonial Center of Tibes), a center that keeps historical evidence of our ancestors and their journey through our island.  This center is located on State Road #503, in the city of Ponce.  To take part of the tour of the center can be extremely interesting and educating, because not only the center exhibits artifacts that the indians used, but you can also see rock formations, petroglyphs and more. Casa Pueblo

Casa Pueblo (Town House) is an organization that promotes the voluntary participation for the community from individuals and/or organizations willing to develop alternatives for the conservation and protection of the environment, and the cultural resources in Puerto Rico.  It is located in the town of Adjuntas, where it is visited by thousands of people a year who visit the town to learn of its history, purchase its unique products and be in an environment of reflection, improvement, leadership and self-awareness.  Tinti Deya, a founding member of the organization, is the one who greets the visitors with love and patience, and tells the mission of the organization, its projects and the struggles they have went through. To visit Casa Pueblo is like a museum: there’s always something interesting to see and learn. Continue reading

Finca El Girasol

To hear the name of Guanica is to think of Gilligan’s Island, to think about their beautiful hostelries, to think about more than 10 breathtaking beaches that the town has to offer, to think about its unparalleled and unique Dry Forest, but above all else the small Sunflower Farm that it is hidden there.

This farm of sunflowers, located on State Road #116, km 26.2 in Guanica, is highly special because it is the first farm with flowers and sunflowers open to the public, and allowing the visitors to have direct interaction with nature and the community.  The customers who visit this site have the opportunity to walk through the grounds where the sunflowers are located so that they may admire them, take photographs and even purchase the most beautiful sunflowers that they can find.

Vieques Black Sand Beach

Without a shadow a doubt, Puerto Rico is one of the countries with the most beautiful beaches around the world. To list them would be a difficult job because this small island is surrounded by water. .. An there is plenty of beach to go around.  Here in Puerto Rico, we have beaches that known around the world, beaches with blue flag and beaches that catches your attention.  One of those beaches is Playa Negra, or Black Sand Beach, In Vieques Island.

The Indian Cave

In Puerto Rico, there are approximately 2,000 caves, of which only around 400 have been investigated.  With that being said, there are around thousands of hidden caves yet to be discovered and could be the beginning of a great adventure. If exploring is one of your favorite hobbies,  then we invite you to visit the Cueva del Indio, or the Indian Cave: a cave located in the town of Arecibo containing petroglyphs of our ancestors and with a view of the sea that will take your breath away.

Coffee Museum

What Puerto Rican does not enjoy coffee?  Maybe there is a few who do not like to enjoy a good cup of coffee that is very hot and it joined with a light meal.  From black coffee to coffee prepared with liquor, coffee has been very popular in Puerto Rico.

Brief History:

However, what is coffee?  For your information, coffee is a drink produced from the seeds of a coffee plant (Coffea).  They are roasted and grounded to then be mixed with hot water IMG_6159and get the drink called coffee.  The cultivation of the plant is found mainly in tropical and subtropical countries, this being linked to the economy and culture of the country producing it.   Continue reading

It is said that life at the sea is tastier, and who are we to deny it?  Being at sea is a unique and unparalleled experience.  To have the opportunity to travel the world, discover new horizons, to venture through cays and islands, observe creatures that live hundreds of feet underwater… In other words, it is an experience not to be missed, especially if you are the type of person who is fascinated by the sea, its history, discoveries, to learn the instruments that were used to navigate and more! Then the “Museo del Mar” or  The Museum of the Sea in Old San Juan will be your best ally.

Marquesa Forest Park

Guaynabo is known by many as the city where you can find many restaurants, nightlife entertainment and shops. However, what people do not know is that located at the south of the highest hill in the city, called Cerro La Marquesa, is the Parque Forestal La Marquesa (Marquesa Forest Park): an ecological and touristic park where the family can have a recreational journey while learning about the flora and fauna. This park was opened in October 2008 and you can find facilities for ropeways, variety of flora and fauna, a butterfly garden and aviary, an observation tower, playground for children, laboratory reproduction of birds, among many other things.
